Daryl Fahner

is a Georgia native from the Atlanta area. He served for 5 y with the Navy, then transitioned to the Army National Guard where he served as a Staff Sargent in the Georgia National Guard. He spent 6 y with the 138th Chemical Company whose mission was and is to serve the southeast as a Mass Casualty Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive Decontamination Unit. After leaving the Army he worked for a year with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Environmental Protection Division, Radiation Emergency Response and Environmental Monitoring Program. He shifted to public health where he coordinates bio-terrorism, chemical threats, and radiation for Georgia Department of Public Health. In the radiation area he coordinates the maintenance, calibration and replacement of over 1,000 handheld units across hospitals and local health departments as well as over 30 portal monitor sets spread out across the local districts.
